# Siemes NX tutorial for beginners,the tee bend surface model

Today we will come together to build the following surface model of this tee bend. We’ll be using the most basic surface modeling commands. Please follow along with our Siemens NX tutorial to complete the creation of the model below.

## Step 1:

Draw the following sketch in the YZ plane and use the Rotate command to rotate the surface.

## Step 2:

Select the XZ plane and draw a hexagon with the following dimensions on it. Next, use the Stretch command to create a stretched piece of the following dimensions.

## Step 3:

Select the edges of the stretched hexagon and chamfer R1.

## Step 4:

Draw a circle of the following dimensions in the XZ plane and stretch it.

## Step 5:

Obtain the intersecting curves of the 1/2/3/4 surfaces. (Select the 1/2/3/4 surface and the YZ datum plane for the intersecting surface.)

## Step 6:

Create a bridging curve: Select the 1/2 points respectively and create a bridging curve as shown below.

## Step 7:

Create a sweeping surface: Select the bridging curve created in the previous step as the sweeping cross-section and the remaining two as the sweeping trajectory lines.

## Step 8:

Continue to create a bridging curve: select each of the 1/2 points to create a curve as shown on the right.

## Step 9:

Create a rotated surface: select the bridging curve we created in the previous step as the section line for rotation, with the Y-axis as the rotation axis.

## Step 10:

Mirror Geometry: select the 3 surface slices created above and create mirror geometry about the XZ datum plane.

## Step 11:

Draw a circle in the XY plane and stretch the circle. The dimensions are shown below:

## Step 12.

Draw a sketch in the YZ plane with the dimensions shown below, and stretch the trimmed primary surface.

## Step 13:

Create the intersection line between the surface and the datum plane. The intersection line is shown below:

## Step 14:

Create 4 bridging curves based on the above intersection lines as shown below:

## Step 15:

Use the above bridging curves to build a mesh surface, as shown below (note that when selecting the intersection line, you need to select the “1” curve more than once).

## Step 16:

Sew all the surfaces together and thicken the material by 0.5mm.
