In the following surface modeling example, we will share a surface modeling of a gasoline bottle created in Siemens NX software. We will use a few simple curve and surface commands to create the shape of the bottle.image-20231014211627804

Step 1:

Create a sketch in the XY plane with the dimensions shown below and stretch it by 200mm;.

Step 2:

Create a sketch of the following dimensions on the XZ datum plane and rotate it to get a rotating body;

Step 3:

Use the “Isoparametric Curve” command to create a curve on the surface of the above rotating body (the curve is determined according to the position of the 8 points in the figure below).

Step 4:

Use the “Bridge Curve” command to create 8 bridge curves as shown below;

Step 5:

Use the “Through Curve Mesh” command to create a mesh surface as shown below;

Use the “Unite” command to combine the three individual bodies into a single body;

Use the “Edge Blend” command to create the rounded corners of the bottom edge of the bottle, R15mm.
