Create iphone case in Siemens NX,Detailed tutorial for beginners

The following tutorial is a detailed tutorial on modeling the iPhone case in Siemens NX. It’s pretty simple overall, but note the way the triangle texture is created;

Step 1:

Create a sketch in the XY plane with the dimensions shown below and stretch the sketch, the height dimension is not important;

Step 2:

Chamfer the 4 boundaries of the stretched sheet;

Step 3:

Create a sketch on the XZ plane of the dimensions shown below (this sketch is made to serve as a swept cross-section line for the following step;

Step 4:

Use the “Sweep Command” to select the sketch created in the previous step for the section lines, and select the stretched boundary lines with rounded corners created in step 1 for the trajectory lines;

Step 5:

Select the XZ datum plane to create the sketch of the left hole of the cell phone case as shown below, and use the Stretch command to remove the material;

Step 6:

Select the same XZ plane to create the sketch of the right side of the phone case for the button and stretch it, excising the material;

Step 7:

Select on the YZ plane to create the sketches of the charging port and speaker of the phone case and stretch, excising the material;

Step 8:

Use the “Boundary Plane” command to create the bottom surface of the case, as shown in the following figure;

Step 9:

Stitch the created bottom surface to the surface after removing the holes;

Step 10:

Chamfer the inner edge of the phone case R2, and create a wall thickness of the phone case: 2mm.

Create the chamfering treatment for the edges of the phone case;

Step 12:

Create a sketch of the phone case texture on the bottom side of the phone case, as shown in the image below, in any size;

Step 13:

Then stretch the texture sketch created above, (note that the stretching needs to be done at a large extraction angle, in order to get the stretched triangular body features)

Select the XY plane to create a sketch of the camera hole location and stretch it to excise the material;
